Hey ARD and Greybeard, I also have a Lionel train set. I had the 0 gauge set up on a 12 foot length of plywood, winter village, ski slope and farm village. Wife got tired of it, took up too much room she said, I thought it looked good. My set is a 1935 Lionel Yankee Flyer commuter train. The train is the old 027 gauge but the 0 gauge track works. This train was my Dads when he was 10 yrs old. Cost me $300. to get the 1935 Engine rewired, the set was appraised to be worth $600 in 1993.
But my favorite hobby has always been motorcycles.
