As with many others on here my speedo has gone west!. Looking on internet for replacements seems to suggest the most easliy available are digital ones. Has anyone any advice as to how easy these are to fit?. Looking on the sellers websites gives little info apart from it "comes with speedsensors and magnets"..so do the sensors go on the front or back ? and where is the best place etc?....basic mechanic looking for guideance.

I'm on my second triumph speedo. this one totally stopped the other day - including odometer - last time odometer kept working. I tried changing out cable, as well as putting old speedo back on (for odometer use) - and no, go. So, I'm thinking it's something in the front hub that stopped working. Dakota digital makes some nice ones, but pricey. There are a few threads on here from folks who have done this mod - do a search.
I'd be happy to sell you my current one, which I think still works, contingent on it working on your bike.
I'm probably switching to a koso (better price) - just determining which one will fit best in the console, so I can clean up the front end some.
...you're gonna feel a little pressure....

Neil, I went with a digital speedometer and ended up putting the sensor/magnet on the rear. It doesn't matter which wheel it works with, just that in my case I wanted to have one less cable up front.

Whoo..........I was almost afraid to see what was up in here. I didn't want to see ya standing there in a broken banana hammock.
Seriously there are a few digital speedos out there some guys like them too.

thanks, Gregger - I'm still learning how everything is hooked together.... but that definitely seems like the problem. Now I just have to figure out how much of a PITA it is to replace that piece. I'm leaning heavily towards going with a small gauge in the console with a manetic pick-up on the wheel.

Real easy to replace that odo pickup. Simple remove the front wheel, unscrew the cable from the pickup, screw the cable to the replacement pickup and set the pickup back in place when you remount the front wheel.
The job should take 10 minutes with a motorcycle jack.
