Are there going to be any good movies comming out? All the previews I have seen are true turds. Its sad really because one of the thing my wife and I like to do is go see a movie while doing some Christmas shopping each year. Looks like that going to be off the schedule this year.
We watched the Conan the Barbarian movie last night at home. What a let down.
Hollyweird sucks.

I'd like to see it also. They never really made very many WWI movies so I hope this is a good one.

If not I may never watch another Hollyweird freak show again. It seems that if its not a re-hashed classic, a comic, or toilet humor those lack luster imaginationless hacks can't make a film.

Okay Chad, here's the thing.
After reading your OP above here, I have to ask...Did you ACTUALLY think this new Conan The Barbarian was gonna be a freakin' CLASSIC???? Dude, even the FIRST ONE with Arnold was BARELY so-so AT BEST!!!
Ya see, you've fallen RIGHT INTO the trap that "Hollyweird" WANTS ya to fall into. You're settling for movies that a freakin' 17 year old KID would pay money to see 'cause it won't tax his little 17 year old BRAIN!!!
And so, HERE'S my suggestion...Start reading the freakin' REVIEWS that CRITICS say about the movies BEFORE you watch 'em! Yeah, I know, I've heard all that old BS by people that "If a critic likes such and such a movie, then it'll be bad!" But ya know WHAT?! That idea is usually HOGWASH that is often said by people who demand little in the way of a thought provoking movie. Yeah, like MOST freakin' 17 year olds...WHO btw are the ones who plunk down their money at the boxoffice, and so "Hollyweird" GIVES 'em what the hell they WANT!!!
And so, is it any wonder why "Hollyweird" often times does THAT?!
(...NOOOOOOO, 'cause as Hal Holbrook as Deep Throat says in ALL the President's Men, "Follow the money!")
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Oh, and another btw here...yeah, this "War Horse" movie has the look of a winner, if ya ask me, though its plot sounds an awful lot like an old 1946 film titled, "Courage of Lassie", starring a young Liz Taylor. That one actually is pretty good, as it too is about a Service Animal, but it's set during WWII, not WWI.
It's shown on TCM from time to time.
(...btw, don't let the title confuse ya...the collie in this one is actually named "Bill" and not "Lassie"...word was the producers of it wanted to cash in the popularity of the first Lassie film)

The movies of late have been a bit on the lame side, i am a bit of a sci fi nut so i enjoyed a few recent releases but just barely. Now i just tend to wait for them to come out on DVD and buy them, that way i am only out the 20 bucks versus 25 for movie, 25 for pop and 100 for popcorn! LOL oh ya and 15 for nibs ..... those prices just kill me. :-) but the war horse one does look like it will be a good one.
2007 Speedmaster and miss it!
2013 T-Bird Storm and Luvin it!

Ok Dwight I agree with ya except the whole review thing. They have their agendas too. Case in point Inglorious Basterds (How ever they spelled it), and Lady in the Water. And No. I did not think that Conan would be a classic or even great. I did hope it would be tolerable like Atilla, Braveheart, Rob Roy, or that last King Arthur movie. You know this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N6pZX0sDAk.

Hey! Maybe you don't know this, but in order to fight those Mexican drug cartels, the Tijuana Police Dept was just authorized to purchase a bunch of THESE....

Man ! That fanged beastie skeered me and I fell backwards but my supply of nitrous oxide infused bubble wrap protected me .
I meant to go see "The Debt" , now it's out on DVD , was wondering about it . Sorta "Odessa File" (ish).

Yeah, the Swedish versions are pretty good. If you can read.
Last movie I saw in a theatre was Cars 2. We get a lot of movies from NetFlix.

Comfortable seating, 60" plasma, 5.1 stereo, REAL food, I can pause to take a leak or get more food, unlimited movie selection, my dog at my feet, my girl on my arm. Why one Earth would I pay outrageous amounts to sit with strangers and watch a movie on someone else's schedule?

I watched an interesting movie from Eric Idle, called "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen". It was quite alot of fun. I think it was older but you can see it on Hulu.com if your board.

Yeah! Ya know John, I think I saw that TOO!
I especially liked the part where one of those bearded men(or was it that bearded women?...well anyway) says..."We don't need no stinking barrages...of chihuahuas!"
