Anyone have experience with Cheetah? Appears to be an inexpensive solution with good features. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I got the Cheetah alarm last year and must say I'm very happy with it. A little scary to cut all those cables (all black) on the bike, but Matt helped me out with the instructions that is now on his website. Go for it, you can't beat the price.

I put the Cheetah on my bike, cause I already had a Triumph stolen. It works well, the wiring instructions are excellent.
Just had to get used to removing the keys when washing cause the little FOB does not like to be wet.
Go for it...

Yoshi,
Excellent! I bet the packaged instructions are not that understandable. I'm gonna get one.

Good. If you're getting the Cadillac model with the "intelligent tilt box", let us know where you mount that thing. I was wondering whether the heat from the engine would affect the boxes mounted beneath the tank.

After fitting the base model cheetah to mine and writing up the webpage a friend wanted one on his yamaharley, but he wanted the "intelligent tilt switch" version. I would recommend you don't bother, the tilt thing's a bit buggy and unless you have centre AND side stands (which allow for 2 different stand angles) it's just as effective to get a $2 mercury tilt switch and wire it up to the accessories wire. Get the mercury switch that's encased in plastic (info on my website) and use some double-sided tape to stick it under the frame.
If you absolutley MUST have the expensive version, you should be able to mount the tilt mechanism under the seat on the top of the airbox with some double-sided tape... it's not much bigger than a matchbox.

Thanks Matt. Dumb question: with the mercury switch setup, is it oriented along the front-rear axis of the frame or perpendicular to it? My hunch is that is has to be perpendicular.

There's no dumb questions, only dumb cagers
Yah your hunch's right... you align the mercury switch across the frame (perpendicular to the axis of the bike) with the end with the wires on the right, so that the mercury doesn't contact the terminals till the bike's stood up. Depending where exactly you put it on the frame you might have to fiddle with it's orientation slightly... I had to turn mine a few degrees clockwise or it wouldn't fire till the bike was past upright. Just use bluetac or something to stick it there while you play with it, then something more permanant when you've got it right.
Matt
