Some things just don't travel. I heard yesterday (funnily enough on Top Gear!) that the US tv people tried to remake Fawlty Towers .... without Basil Fawlty!! HELLO!!!
There was talk of doing a US version of Absolutely Fabulous, until they realized that as soon as they took out the Sex, Drugs and Alcohol they didn't have a show.
