Well , it was a great memorial service . The weather was pretty good and the response was fantastic. We had a good PGR showing , and a bunch of BA.com members showed up as well. It was obvious that Larry was beloved by lots of people. A twenty-one gun salute was given by several brances of the Service and followed by the haunting notes of "Taps" from a solitary bugle. The reception following the memorial was a celibratory feast prepared by the Methodist ladies , it rivaled Thanksgiving dinner, and Mrs. LarryShep made her signature cakes.
It was not just a memorial service , but a celibration of Larry's life and legacy.
Thanks to the following BA.com members for honoring LarryShep with your presence (and forgive me if I overlooked anyone). Some of these folks rode a LONG way to be here - Maryland, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, Tennesee. Now THAT'S dedication.
