Hello all, i am getting the 904 kit done in a few weeks and also having the air box ditched at the same time. i am keeping my stock look. i see there are two types on the market, the FREAK bros, and then there is the kit offered by britishcustoms.com what is the general consensus? which is better? ESPECIALLY in keeping the stock look (i want to keep it as stock look in that ara as possible, i hate the exposed filters) looking for which is best, sturdy, performance, etc. my thanks in advance.

Do you use rain covers for the filters? Did you keep your stock look?

Also, if you kept the stock look, do you have any pics of this kit on your pic?

I don't have that kit... I have the FREAK. Yes I run the rain covers. The reason I would go with the TPUSA vs the FREAK is cause the plastic box that comes with the FREAK is kinda small and a pain to get out of needed. I would have preferred a built in box like the one on the TPUSA kit. Heres a pic of my bike (left - It has a FREAK) and Karens bike (right - OEM) side by side. Yes its a HUGE pic but that way you can get a nice close view of how they look. BIGGER

wow, BIG picture above eh? Have you considered just drilling out the airbox bottom and the air filter bottom?? Quick, easy, FREE works fine. easy destructions in tech vault. Did I mention the FREE part? That is how mine is now the the 904. Runs just fine.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Reboot has a drilled airbox, top and bottom with screen material on the top and possibly scotchbrite on the bottom hole (I haven't checked), a stock style Uni filter and no snorkel. Runs great, gets really good gas mileage (pushing 50mpg if I keep my "foot" out of it). Short TOR mufflers that sound mellow and rumbly with the extra airflow. Not quite as loud as short TORs with the Freak pod filter, like I used to have on Bollox. And those were pretty quiet at idle anyway. I haven't verified the jetting or anything involving the carbs yet, but I probably will when I check the valve clearances.

What do you keep in your little plastic stash box?

Yes, it was that big so he could see the difference between the OEM and FREAK... but someone changed it so now its just a pic that you can't see any detail on.

No, bad planning is posting a 4000px wide image in a forum, rather than taking a few moments to crop and resize it. yerself.

i have the freak on mine, i like it because the bike looks 100% factory, the only thing i did different was on the battery side i drilled out the balck shield that covers the K&N pod so that it got as much air as the other side did, pretty much used the chrome cover holes as a template, good kit, not allot of meat on the carb for the pods though so you need to make sure that your hose clamp is just so.
