Ditto Preacher, life has just gotten in the way for me and aside from strumin the accoustic while watching the tube etc i have really not seeked out any kind of projects, i am 46 started playing when i was about 12 (can you say "house of the rising sun"! and "smoke on the water"!) LOL spent about 14 years with one group of guys, all originals never covers. I must have 300 or more completed sets of lyrics laying around some good some drank to much bad! :-)
As for mics i am a big fan of the Shure SM57 for instruments, amps and the like, although its good for vocals as well just a bit directional, i have always used the standard Shure SM58 for vocals, you can buy them new for 100.00 buckes and they will stand the test of time.
