The PIAA H4 bulbs are an improvement, but make sure you carry a spare bulb with you. I have tried several PIAA bulbs, and each time they burned out within 6 months. Currently I have the stock bulb (the original one) installed, and have a set of driving lamps installed.
I have a HID kit installed on my Tiger (low beam only) and it makes a huge difference. The HID uses only 35 watts and puts out over 3 times more light than a conventional 55 watt Halogen bulb. the 55 Watt HID kits put out over 5 times more light than a conventional Halogen bulb.
