I picked up a Honda BIG RUCKUS this week. I've had a lot of fun with scooters, but needed something that could pull my fat arse around AND keep up with traffic. The Ruckus is a quirky scooter, you either love 'em or hate 'em. I happen to be one of the former that likes the utilitarian look. I found this one for a reasonable price (a 2006 w/ only 1700 miles). 75 mph and 65 mpg. Woo-Hoo!

Oh (and Keith will hate this); Full coverage insurance with Geico is $37/year.

the regular "small" ruckus was the scooter that this korean kid "Wan" rode across country and documented on a ruckus user forum. That little 49cc scooter held up to some severe punishment.

That takes me back. In Germany, we had some Italian students who worked in the mess hall. They rode from various places in Italy over the Alps and halfway across Germany on 50 - 75 cc mopeds.

I've been looking for one on and off for a few years. The 2005 is yellow, the 2006 is silver. Somewhere around 2000 were imported to the US/Canada (a couple of additional years in the JDM). 19 HP out of 249 liquid cooled cc's but potential for more. Stock, I can hit 80 mph if I do a Rollie Free. Going with knobbies and searching the Army Surplus stores for some luggage. I've got a line on a medic's bag for the front rack and will be adding a few more lights. I'm happy.

Buddy of mine on another board lives in Pittsburgh, PA and uses his Big Ruckus for primary transportation year-round. Had it for at least 4 years now. Last I saw it (last year) it had outrageous miles on it (40k+, I think) and it still ran like a top.
