Yes , the America/SM has a steeper rake than the classic Bonnie line .
And changing out the front seems excessive , all that would accomplish is a different fender and spokes , assuming it would slide into the triple clamps. The front and rear wheel configuration needs to be the same , ie. spoke/spoke or alloy/alloy or it will look crappy . Just my H.O.
