Hey Tom... I looked up those Slipstreamer windshields you mentioned just to see what you were talking about. I have no experience with Slipstreamers specifically but have a fair bit of experience with windshields in general. It's a bit a science, getting a shield to work well with your bike, your body type, seating position, etc. You can't necessarily blame the buffeting issue on the shield because there are so many other factors at play. I've had my head bashed around by buffeting from this shield or that one, but in the end found that lowers cured the problem completely. Yup, it seems a lot of air is forced up from below and that can be blocked with a set of lowers. Try holding your left arm and hand level to the ground at a place somewhere around your chest. I'm confident you'll feel air pushing up on your arm and if you do, THAT is what's causing the buffeting.
