I can remember my first "barber" shave from my teens. The old guy whipped out this cut throat razor, lathered up my face, stropped the edge of the instrument and set to work (which took about 5 minutes or so) on my face. All with my dad lookin on & just about ready to bust.
As far as razors go the ol cut throat has worked for me for many years. check out Dututh Trading Co.'s website for "old fashioned" shaving equipments (shaving soaps, mugs, & etc. )
