Nah. Not if they fit right. I've been wearing them for work for 40 years.

They do get cold in wet, wintry conditions. Composite safety toes don't. And they're ANSI rated too.

Been wearing boots since I was raking leaves from under an Azalea bush in my front yard and found part of a foot - remains of a M/C accident several months earlier.

Well I finally got them. I decided on the Tourmaster Solution 2.0 boots, and I couldn't be happier with them. Hardened toe box, ankle armor, heel protection. I was worried that with all the armor that they would be very stiff and hard to walk in, but not to worry they were amazingly comfortable right out of the box. Highly recommend them. https://www.denniskirk.com/dk/product_images/dk/600pix/dk3571166.jpg

My new set arrived this weekend--comfortable right out of the box (though I've added my fancy insoles):

Waterproof, steel toe, $154 shipped. I think I paid $169 for my last set in 2004. I wanted Cruiserworks but those cost over twice as much and aren't always in stock.

all redwing motorcycle boots are made in china - or some middle eastern country. don't be fooled my the assembled in usa tags.

but they're still the balls. I worked for them for a while. I ware red wing's 1412s and the steal tow version. as well as Irish setters sometimes. oh and now and again 2292's.

Red wings if bought at red wing store - garenteed stitching laces, rings, hooks, eyelets for life. and most are resole-able.

Black cowboy boots. Been lookin' cool for 60 years.
Justin Ropers are good too, lace-up and made in USA.
Chippewas are made in USA as well, but they B a bit rigid, more of a logger boot.

Never brought that up. I wanted Cruiserworks boots but they are twice as expensive and they're flakes.

The Red Wing Shoe brand is still primarily handmade in the USA at the company's plants in Potosi, Missouri and Danville, Kentucky and two plants in Red Wing, Minnesota. In addition to manufacturing footwear under their own name, Red Wing Shoes also manufactures shoes under the Irish Setter Boots, Vasque, Carhartt, and Worx brands. These non-Red Wing brands include a majority of models manufactured overseas.

ALL carhartt (red wing doesn't make them anymore so i hear) irish setter, vasque, and worx are not made in the usa.

a solid chunk of the red wing catalog is made overseas, or "Made in the USA with Imported Materials."

thier U.S. plants here are working (some 24 hrs) making their heritage line (thats huge in japan) and their classic work boots. So i'm thinking redwing is doing alright.

and i take back my statement, if i remember correctly the 988 red wing boot was the only us made motorcycle boot of theirs made here.

with that said - I never cared. they're still top quality and I will always stand behide them. China made - us made

fairjohn - I was just spewing that out for no reason, i've worn the boots you've got before and loved them. that black leather is tough as nails, and Vibram soles are the best around!

and that post came off douchie and such, didn't mean any of that to me "matter of fact" or "i know better" thats just the knowledge i gained working for them here in new england.

i've worn redwings every day for 4 years. like every every day.

i was wrong about the 988s

Well i just ordered a pair of these for this year

http://simage1.sportsmansguide.com/adimgs/l/1/148826_ts.jpg

Millwaukee stomp boots, tried a pair on at local store, very nice fit and very easy to walk in, they wanted 169.00 here so i ordered them online delivered for 120.00 The soulds are not very tall which i like, i hate adjusting my shifter rod all the time.

I wear Ariat motorcycle boots. Waterproof, side zipper and very heavy duty. Pricey though. The first time I wore them I laid my bike down(not boot related) and my feet survived without a scratch.

yes they do with perforated leather on the backs of them for some air, very decent soul and like i said not very high so should be good for shifter placement, also they bend very nicely with their "easy bend" or whatever technology. All leather upper. Also a cool little chrome buckle thing a ma jig on the other side of the heal, can't see in the pic.

They remind me of the original Triumph Highway or Cruiser boot. Only with out the lug sole. Still have mine, great boot. My only complaint was they should have made them higher.

They look well made and I like the look. Always like mc boots with the shifter pad.
