After 21 years, my Harley boots (look like Dingo Boots) need to be replaced. They were great for riding but uncomfortable to walk/stand in. I tried some of the Walmart brands and they weren't comfortable. Was hoping to find good boots without spending $100 plus. Any suggestions?

ANY suggestions? Well, to a certain point, you get what you pay for. Rode on Sunday with my new Red Wings and not even broken in I completely forgot I was wearing them they were that comfortable. $154 is money well spent.

My $24 Wal Mart work boots finally gave up after 5 years +. Didn't wear them out the glue finally failed that held the sole to the part that is stitched to the upper.

Stopped by a aftermarker bike store and they recommended an outlet store that carries tons of brands. Tried on some Joe Rocket boots at the local Honda shop- it has potential.

"dingo boots", are you talking about harness boots with the straps and ring?

I have two pairs of Triumph boots. Engineer boots and just over the ankle lace up boots. The Engineer boots work best with the America, and the lace up boots with the Tiger. I have a third pair of boots that work well with both bikes and are extremely comfortable. The TCX Air Tech Gore Tex Touring Boots These boots have great ventilation, and are waterproof. They are not cheap boots. I paid just over $200 for them, and I got them at a pretty reduced price. Tom

Yes. Except it had an eagle instead of a ring.

Funny, had a couple pairs of Frye harness boots in the late 60s, early 70s. No self respecting hippy didn't own a pair. Great look though, timeless.

I bought a pair of (brown) Frye harness boots 6-7 years ago. Very comfortable. Haven't worn them for a couple years, might be time for a test walk. Don't know much about the hippy thing

I was wearing a pair of those back in `71 when I crashed and busted my leg in two. Those boots saved me from a compound fracture and I darn near cried with they cut the one off with shears and complete disregard for their intrinsic value.
Live to love, love to live.

I wore those boots back in the early 70s too. I guess Dingo was the brand.

Dingo and Frye were the two most popular brands. My guess is they still make both. It's funny how young people with their supposed independence and individuality all dressed the same back then, harness boots, bell bottoms, chambray work shirts and denim jackets. But, then I suppose every generation has their uniform. I still wear cowboy boots, I might look in to a pair of Fryes. Not bad for riding occasionally, but very comfortable for sitting on a bar stool.

Everytime bell bottems are mentioned, I think of an older cousin who thought he was a stud. If he had bagged as many women as claimed, he would have been the poster boy for penicillin. Still can't listen to disco music because of him.

Only ever bought one pair of bell bottoms. Didn't like them, got caught on everything, especially foot pegs.

I have a frat brother that might have been separated a birth from your older cousin. Discos were quite the "meat markets", unfortunately I was married at time.

I think this thread has straaaaayed, but IMO, also called In My Opinion for old school acronym challenged like me, placing disco and music in the same sentence is a contradiction in terms and an affront to all that remains decent in this world.
On the other hand Frye makes a cool and comfortable boot to boot.

Disco isn't listening music, it's dance music like ol time rock&roll, soul and R&B. I like to dance, but you won't find any Disco in my library.

You just described what I normally wear while riding the TBA, Harness boots, Old Navy Boot Cuts, and a Denim shirt, plus a leather jacket.

Do take this as an insult Bob, but, come to think of it I'm a throwback too.
FYI, Frye harness boots retail for $270 now.
