Might want to double-check all the wiring harness connectors around where you were working with the wiring associated with the blinkers. I believe the blinkers all tie into the harness within the headlight bucket. Since your bike was doing fine before the new blinker install it just about has to be something in the area of the wiring where you were working though probably not directly related to the blinker circuit. Like Two Wheel N said, check the simple stuff first.
