...which I'm not gonna do. But I met a person and last night and it made me realize something about fame today. This was the Mom of a freshman my daughter has taken under her wing at college. I immediately recognized her. She is a beautiful 40-something that has been a fixture on TV series for the last couple decades. ER, CSI, White Collar, tons of stuff, you'd know her in a second. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT HER NAME WAS. When she introduced herself I realized I'd never heard of her. Never knew her name, anyway. How weird is that?

I don't recall celebrities names most of the time. (Really not into the whole following them thing) Then when I have met a couple, it is a strange experience. Familiar, but often and entirely different person than you expected.

Hope you talked to her about Triumphs.

How about this? Her first name is Mädchen. I talked to her about daughters. She seemed very nice and unassuming. I don't claim to know her.

Actually, there are plenty of celebs in Asheville we see all the time. Used to see Andie McDowell at the gym a couple times a week. I helped her daughter once with her homework and she introduced herself as 'Rose'. She's nice but looks nothing like she does on the screen. Never really spoke to her again other than to say 'hi'.
Some pro wrestler that is apparently famous just moved here. I don't know any of them. Gladys Knight (no Pips) lives about a half mile from my house in Fairview. Haven't seen her yet. Harry Anderson is pretty easy to spot.
Of course, anybody living in LA or New York, or Las Vegas for that matter, sees a hundred times that many on a weekly basis, I imagine.
The whole point of the first post was that I found it kind of interesting to see someone I've seen on TV for years and not having a clue as to their name. Never should have mentioned it. Didn't mean any harm.

Friar John, to be I honest I'd have to say, 'I think so'. She looked a whole lot different than that picture. Like a real cute mom. That does look like her daughter, though.
Her daughter, a really sweet girl, said that I might recognize her mom but I probably would have no idea of her name. She is a typical nice, insecure college freshman. Easy to like.
