well FJ since you asked and if you must know, my mother came up with the spelling as Mykel when i was born but the hospital wouldnt do it that way and told her she was spelling it wrong. she put up a good fight but lost in the end, so on paper its correct Michael, but to my mother it will always be Mykel. my mother has always been a bit ahead of the curve or some would say progressive not in a political way but just in a sensical sort of way. she has always excepted the ways of my childhood and understood the experimenting that a child or teen might live thru and accepted it. my teachers in school for the most part let me spell it that way, oh there were some that barked but when i would tell them its what my mother wants they would usually let it go. funny thing is, her mother came here from Ireland and always called me Mickey hahahaha and some people wonder whats wrong with me hahahahahaha i only use the "correct" spelling on important documents but have used my mothers spelling for just about everything else. hope that clears that up for you and Dwight
