Get rid of the squirrel Condoms. Buy a length of vacume hose or rubber fuel line with the ID about the size of the ports. Run it from one to the other.(you will run it through the hole in the frame) ZIP TIE to each. It will never fall off and it equalizes the vacume pressure for each cylinder. 6 yrs and never had to replace it and it has never come off. 
Interestingly, On my 76 Bonnie there are no squirrel condoms on the Amals, there is a length of hose connecting the two intake manifolds.
