i don;t care for the OEm gunfighter, too wide and to high, i like the solo seats i have the one from Bruiser Customs but for long halls there is not enough padding on it, SO...i am looking at the Corbin solo with back rest for the longer rides.... i am told you can order then with the softer foam (apparently they are pretty stiff) whats your take on them, pics would be great as well if ya got em. thanks again for the help.

Have you tried an Airhawk cushion on that BCC low profile seat?

Have a solo and pillion pad. Love it. Its firm, but helps my posture and is great for the long haul. Its not comfy soft, but firmly supportive instead.

I've got almost 40 thousand miles on my stock saddle and I've never had a problem with it. Although sometimes I toy with the idea of narrowing it up a bit.

my passengers RAVE about the comfort of the corbin pillion seat...but I find that the solo give me hot spots after about 90 miles that don't want to dissapear regardless of shifting positions...and I have about 6k miles on it so it's well beyond the 1k "break in" period

I have commented on this b4. I have to agree with RobBA on this one. I have had mine on for 27,000 miles (corbin gunfighter) and have not been very happy at all. instead of buying a new seat, fix the one you have. here is a link i have posted a few times. I AM going to do this this yr I swear! LOLOLOL http://knoplace.com/Gel_Pad_Installation.htmlYou can order the kit and do it yourself, or take the kit to a local person, or send your seat to them. They are pretty reasonable on proces. but shipping is a bit high. I am thinking of getting the kit and going to the local upholster shop. I hear they do good work on bike seats. Ask around town who does the best work and talk to them. They may have the gel and comfort foam in stock.

British Customs has a seat on a bike on their site (the one that pops up when you select America/Speedmaster). I called them about it and they said they were considering having them built for sale. Very nice saddle.

I just went for my first ride today with my corbin solo seat.Firm but supportive as hyates said. Only an 80km ride so it's hard to say for sure but it felt good. The foam didn't compress after 80ks as the stock would have. I had my stock seat re done with firmer foam which helped but the corbin's better IMO. Trouble is that what's comfortable for person wont be for another

I Corbin'ed Vera Lynn around 64,000 miles ago back in September 2004. Cinnamon Girl came with a Corbin July 31, 2007. fwiw, I Corbin'ed due to the reasons some say the Corbin blows: Hot spots. The oem saddle drove me crazy. To me a saddle is, well, a saddle! Not a chushy recliner that one plants one's ass in front of a tv on. If I sink down into it, I toss it. It is those sunken spots that give rise to hot spots imho. But to each there own. Some hate 'em some love 'em. I like my Corbins very much. I don't have after market grips or pegs either. They work, the oem saddle didn't.

I have a corbin gunfighter on order - can't add much to this discussion until I get it - but based on everything I've read (I usually do a LOT of research before I buy something) it should help me....time will tell.

thanks for the replies, i guess its a hit miss situation depending on ones butt and expectations! :-) i love the lines of the BC solo seat but you are darn near on rails when sitting in it, i have ordered the rivco risers from fast eddy, maybe changing that up first will help a bit and then i will go from there, like the idea of re-doing this saddle beamer, thanks for the link...ride safe everyone.

lylesdo, be very careful if you narrow your seat. I have a 2011 America & had the seat shaved, what ends up happening is your sitting on your tailbone. This problem led me to having a custom seat made & I could not be more happy, I may have posted pics and info already (sorry, I'm too lazy this morning to search threads). My seat was made by rockybags.com, it cost $450.00 for the seat and pill. I use to be good for about 100 miles now I am at the 400 mile range which is not bad for a 60 year old guy with back problems.

I have the Corbin gunfighter, for about 22K now. It is quite supportive, but has NOT softened at all, not one bit. It could use a bit more cushion, but the stock one sucked so much, its still a major improvement.

Love my Corbin, can ride until I need gas and get right back on. Lasted about 45 minutes with stock seat, made me sit on tailbone and caused pain. Corbin is much more supportive and keeps me sitting properly.

Just another angle here, I have a set of Alaskan sheepskin seat covers that I throw on for long rides, it eliminates hot spots and is very comfy, my wife likes them too. Affordable as well.

How far are you from the US Border? if close, set up an account at a Border Store that receives parcels for a small fee, have the seat sent there ....usually free shipping in the US....ride down with a throw away seat and ride home with the new Corbin. If you're an honest guy....declare it at the Canadian Customs. Bye the way....I love my Corbin with it's backrest. Here's the store I use... http://www.usparcelpickup.com/

If you can get someone in the US to forward you a seat go for it, my Corbin is excellent. UPS is my least favorite shipping company (I AM BEING NICE) shipping for the seat was 60.00 and brokerage was 79.75...gag.

i know they make a bloody profit on the brokerage i am sure of that, most times its as much as the bloody parts i buy. Plus corbin is now referring you to their canadain seller in Quebec and they add another 100 bucks on the price, so a 350 seat is now 450 plus shipping and brokerage!!! crazy business.

A small caution to those considering a Corbin. It's a saddle, not a seat, and it may take a good 200+ miles to break it in. Many people hate them when they first ride with a new Corbin, because they haven't broken it in yet. Once you get it fit to your own butt, you'll want nothing else on your bike.

Interesting, they used to be shipping out of Vancouver, however they had discontinued that last year when I bought my seat. I pressed for shipping by USPS, which they would not do. So I ended up paying UPS 80 bucks for nothing as the seats are duty free being made in the US.

spoke with corbin today, yup 180 bucks to ship to me includes my taxs duties and the like still pricey though, looking at the black snakeskin (very nice against a black bike) on the top and then their mercedes black for the rest, will likley order the back rest as well, just in regular black, "honey 800 bucks is nothing to spend for assuring your mans comfort........right?" I hated the first one i had and I love the second one. The 2nd one is a softer foam. Still firm but much better. This is the one I would recommend

Yep mine is formed sorta to my butt. 28000 miles on it and I cant wait to take advil when I get off it. As I have mentioned b4, make sure you get the softer foam or get the gell and tempur foam top.
I have ridden more comfortable western saddles.

thats the only part that bothers me because in that area, directly behind you, they only use about 1/4 inch of foam if that
