It's been so hot and dry I really haven't ridden a lot this Summer. Nowhere to go...just my weekly run across Houston...
She got to stumbling at idle and just off idle a week ago, and my valve cover gasket had started leaking...20K since my last valve adjustment/check...so I took her in to Cycle Sports for a check-up. In the air conditioning. Valves okay, vacuum leak at my Scottoiler nipple coming off the manifold (cracked)(ordered). Even installed the new Scottoiler Dual Injector. Ready to ride.
I rode up to Natchitoches, La., and back yesterday. I hit rain east of Livingston, and the further I went, the windier and wetter it got. Just what I was hoping for.

I visited my son for an hour or more. He had a photograph show in a gallery on Campus at NSU, which he was taking down this weekend, so I went to go see it.
Then I headed back home. At dusk. Through the National Forest.
No more rain, just wet, curvy, empty road. I had packed the rain suit so that I could blow dry, as I had gotten pretty damp earlier before I stopped and put the suit on. Temp in the low to mid 70's. Perfect.
Got home just after dark. 500 miles on the nose. One day. Made a perfect Holiday Weekend! I love riding in the rain!
By the way, The TRIUMPH Chevron one-piece rain suit has been a very worthwhile investment. It works as advertised. Just remember - if you don't empty your pant and jacket pockets before suiting up, you're going to have to unsuit to get to anything...
