I just had my 2003 america to the shop for running on one and it started out as just when cold. they had it for a week and said it was running on the left side with no spark on the right. But when they put it back together it was working and it work fine for four trips. Now this morning I am back on one side and it is intermittent..any suggestions?

CDI going bad ?? Coils?? Pick Up gap?? Most people have trouble with the CDI going bad.. My 08 cuts out on one after it was been running on longer trips..But so far on my short ride to and from work its ok.. just Switch coils around today and wait and see if it does it again. then ill check the Pick up coil gap next!!

It can be anyone of the items Jason mentioned. Usually it is the CDI starting to fail. Before you condemn it though, verify it isn't a coil by switching them. Swap the primary and secondary wires together. Problem should follow the coil if it is bad. Another issue on the early models has been the gap for the pickup coil. It should be .8mm instead of the 1mm. This has corrected problems in the past but I'm a skeptic. It usually is an indication that the CDI isn't processing the signal the way it could in the past. So something is failing.

Fast Eddie sells the Procom replacement unit which is less than half the price of new.
