Didn't need anything for the throttle side.
Took off old grip on other side with a small screwdriver and WD40 then cleaned the bar and used general purpose glue (non instant type!) by squirting it into the grip and twisted it as I pushed it on. No mess and it gives you time to put the grip in the position you want it.
