Had a few 60's era Mopars (383, 383 Commando & a 440 6-pack) and loved/thrashed them. I bought every old 225 six I could find to use for delivery vehicles. Chrysler lost their focus in the 70's (as did most), and never really regained their dominance. I've got 2 vans now; one with a 318 and one with a 360. The 318 is better. The 360 uses oil and I got a quote yesterday of $1100 to replace a bad catalytic converter (w/only 62K miles on it).
The most trouble free have always been my Toyotas.
