How do I check the oil pressure on my 2002 America? I don't want to buy the gauge kit. The oil light came on very dim . After messing with the wire connection at the sending unit it went out . It appears to be working fine now but I would like to check the pressure just to be sure.

The ONLY way to check the pressure in PSI's is with a gauge , temporary or permanent .

If you Know your way around the fittings to buy, you should be able to set a decent one up for around 50-60 Dollars, maybe even cheaper. A lot would depend on the oil filled gauge or a cheaper one, as would the brand IMHO

I built mine for about $60, for a good temporary set up you could just thread the sensor out and thread in a std car gauge. I think they are std pipe thread but haven't looked in years. The sensor is at the top of the tube that comes out of the crankcase on top of the transmission behind the cyl. It is a banjo fitting there that is 1/2 again thicker than a normal banjo fitting so for a temp. application I would do what I said above.
