In the tech tips for newbys it says check the vaccume plugs on the carb manifold. In the Haynes manual(01-07) picture 3-10 is that the plug in the picture?Also is this what the "squirel condom' is. If it isn't where is this plug that I should be checking. Thanks

I can't find the pic , w/o a chapter , but there are 4 vacuum taps , 2 on the manifold and 2 on the carb body . A skwerl condom is a small black rubber or neoprene sleeve that slides over the vacuum nipple . They will degrade after a year or so , so check 'em .

Sorry that is picture 5-10(chapter 5).are the carb ones on the outsides or inbetween the carbs?

I've started using a good grade of fuel line to connect the pairs of ports (right to left). A little more conspicuous than the sq condoms but it doesn't crack or dry rot like the sq condoms. I balance the carbs with the condoms on just in case the fuel line lessened the difference in throttle valve openings.
