As to fireing these days,, dont know about anywhere else, but my wifes ISD uses a year by year contract. if your no good, you dont get renewed. Really the only reason my wife is in the teachers union is for liability ins. Now isnt that a scarry thing,, being a teacher and having to carry liability / malpratice ins!
