Though if ya ask ME, I think this sad bit of "Who knew?" information says a lot MORE about U.S. PARENTS and THEIR lack of instilling in their OWN kids an "educational work ethic", than it does about the teachers! YEP! I hope you folks realize that our "American culture" has always somehow perversely "prided" itself on being anti-intellectual!

If you would read some A.A. Stagg the father of modern education you would know how and why we are where are in education here. As far as anti intellectualism goes, it is a bit of hyperbole created by Hollyweird that had become true. We didn't become the most advanced nation years ago by choosing ignorance the way we have these days.
