after having to push more than one bike for this very reason in my life, i decided long ago that, 100miles i get gas!!! end of conversation!! i always set my odometer when filling up. i am never in that big of a hurry to be anywhere when i am riding so a fuel stop at 100 is nooo problem. i would much rather fill up every 100 than push for 1yrd. been there done that dont want to do it nomoe!!! besides after 100mi its time to rest the buttocks, get hydrated, enjoy a smoke, and maybe answer a few questions about Triumph that i havnt heard before

I always reset the trip odometer. What gets scary is when you are not on reserve and the trip odo reads 130, then 140, then 150, then 160. omg what wtf is going on? I'm thinking at best I have 30 miles on reserve and as I normally hit reserve at 120-130 I've already used up my reserve! Did that once in Arknasas. Had me so nervous that I turned around and went back to a pump about 20 miles back. Turns out when rolling easy, the fuel mileage goes way way up.

Ever run out and after going over most everything figure out that your fuel is off? grrr. Yes, that was right after getting CG. She had the oem petcock in the off position instead of on. whew...
