I find it odd that people find political comments or debate offensive. There are lots of things about which I have strong opinions and I’m more then happy to engage in political argument, but as soon as you start calling legitimate discourse "offensive" you have veered into political correctness and are just a step away from totalitarianism.
Trying to delegitimatize opinions you disagree with by calling them offensive is simply reprehensible regardless of where you are on the political spectrum. Similarly, as soon as you call your opponents Nazi’s, terrorists, Taliban or the like you have shown yourself to be devoid of a legitimate argument unless you can show an actual similarity in philosophy, tactics or stated goals.

Actually no, this can't happen just anywhere. For the same reason mass shootings always happen in gun free zones and not at gun shows. The criminals may be low life thugs but they're smart enough to stay away from areas where their actions are likely to be violently stopped by their intended victims. I wonder how long the current riots would last if they were taking place outside the Queens residence?

However, need I remind you that THIS website NOW has certain rules in regard to which topics can and can not be discussed, and which were instituted because certain members in the past where unable to engage in a partisan political debate without the apparent need to do exactly what you said you disliked...throw names at others.
And so, what say we give Alan over there a break, as he IS in effect only saying that he doesn't come to BA.com in order to read from any other members that his own particular personal political thoughts are "wrong".

As a followup on this thought. Larry, I get what you are saying but its not always. I hope we can all agree that if you are going to start blazing away at any group of people in a free society you are a bit unbalanced. John Hinckley walked up amongst dozens of cops and 8 Secret Service Agents and shot Reagan. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say that was anything but a gun free zone. Jack Ruby shot Oswald in front of dozens of cops. If we all had a gun (assuming "we" were all sane) some lunatic someplace would open fire anyhow. I will teach you something about violence. Something a police officer lives with every minute of his life. Something he or she thinks hard on for 21 paces or so approaching a car, or opening a door. Are you ready to learn why we are always unprepared? Only the criminal knows when the violence is about to begin. A nut with a gun in his hand is way more lethal than a gun in 100 holsters. Now its already a tragedy, the rest is a matter of scale.

It wasn't very long ago that there was a mass shooting in Arizona. Is it gun free these days? One of the folks on site that was packing later admitted that they very nearly shot a plain clothes officer by mistake. In the end, the folks that were carrying had no impact on the events.

because theres no sure fire definition of right or wrong.

The shooting in Tuscon was an attempted assassnation like the ones that go back to the beginning of time, not the same thing as the more recent kind of mass shootings. That said, it takes a Virginia Tech, Omaha shopping mall, Columbine high school or Norwegian summer camp "No Gun Zone" to give the mass shooters the chance to calmly walk around shooting, reloading and shooting some more.
What's happening in England right now is an example of what happens when you make an entire nation a no gun zone. With the law in Britain now favoring armed criminals over homeowners who try to protect themselves it's a wonder this didn't happen earlier.

I don't know guys, we'vre been having massive riots (involving tens of thousands) here for months now and not a single shot was fired or neccessary.
The hooligans (not the bona-fide demonstrators) did however play tennis (with rocks) back and forth with the riot squad police (who also used tear gas).

I only have a sticker on the front of my helmet that says that but there is a lot of truth in that sticker! By the way , what walks of 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in the afternoon , and 3 legs in the evening?

Yea, I like this better, if you shoot all the outlaws you don't need guns anymore. But we wouldn't have a government either so we would need the guns to protect us from other countries. But who would lead the military. Then we would have to have government again, then we would have crime again. This has become a mess.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.
