Haven't been here for awhile alot has changed. The reason for the long layoff is that my beauty of a '03 Speedmaster & I decided to see if she & I would look better with some roadrash. Turns out we didn't. I was on my way to work and some young woman hit me from behind and put me and the bike through the intersection. I ended up with just brush burns (thank you leather jacket and helmet!) But the yellow and black Speedy didn't fair so well...TOTALLED!!!! But whatcha gonna do. After the girl went on her way to the salvage yard,I just couldn't bring myself to get back on here and see all of the nice bikes. But after 4 years and one little boy the itch just had to be scratched. So as of this past friday I'm the proud owner of a stock 2007 Speedy with only 2900 miles on it! Can't wait to get the back into the wind.

Welcome back. Last time I heard a tale like that was in San Diego sitting in a bike shop waiting on my tool to be repaired. A fellow sat across from me and we got to comparing notes (as I had gone down that particular morning as well). He was travelling the infamous I-94 and an old lady in a caddy nailed him from behind. He got a free ride on the hood till she finally decided to see if she could get the really large bug off her windshield. Sudden stop and centrifigal force then took effect and catapulted him onto the highway. He wasn't in too bad of shape, but the bike was hamburger. The old Lady's comment - "I never saw him!" as she rode up his backside.

It's kinda like the mafia, you can never quit, but you can hide out for a while...

Yeah, since you've been around we've become a 1%er club... nothing but a bunch of outlaws. Oh and there's only ONE patch you can wear now so better get signed up for that!

Welcome back, sorry you found yourself, and bike in the position of being bludgeoned by a cager. Good it didn't kill ya, I hope you at least got another bike out of it.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
