Upgrading this software is long overdue. It's still broken, the core functionality just happens to continue working. Upgrading from UBB 6.5.5 to UBB 7.whatever requires a kludge that doesn't seem to work no matter how much I try. Also, UBB Threads just changed owners in June and to me that means uncertainty. Apparently version 8 of this software is long overdue.

Moving to vBulletin is a clean conversion and a fresh start with new functionality, without losing any content. It is also flexible enough that I should be able to make it mimic this "format."

I don't like the way those other forums look and I don't like the way they are organized. But those two things are relatively easy to fix. That said, I'm all about keeping the content organized and easily accessible while fostering communication, but I'm not married to this design or any other (though I'm partial to that masthead at the top ).



You have to do what you have to do and what's best for the forum, I like the way you navigate this forum better than others.
