The upper and lower suspension links are parallel to each other and move parallel to each other. The fork part and the bearing part are not really parallel so ,if I remember geometry correctly, not really a parallelogram since top and bottom are parallel but front and back are not, but that is what he meant Keith.

Trapazoidalellogramic is clearly the geometric shape of that front end.

das uber komplicated!

Boy, Tom, you're on a roll here lately, aren't ya?!
(...but as I recall, Keith wanted a translation from the original German to Canadian "Hoserese"...and so at least Ian seemed to supply that, though I must admit Ian's translation DID sound a little more American English than it did Canadian Hoserese, huh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Guys, what are we talking about here. This is the Custom Corner. If you like the springer front end use it. If you like the girder or leaf spring front end then use that. So lets get chopping and bobing.....Angelis
1200CC BIG BORE, W/WISECO PISTONS,.250 STROKED CRANK, PORTED/POLISHED HEADS AND LARGER VALVES, CUSTOM WELDED EXHUAST, DUAL 42MM MIKUNI CARBS.

I do like the Springer with a damper shock. I'm not a big time twisty runner so that would not be an issue with me.
What I would like more, given the technology available today?
Some sort of anti-dive control hooked into the common front end. Say a controlled valve that works much like an anti-lock brake system does.

Sounds like your seeking a set of fork valves such as these http://store.ricorshocks.com/triumph_s/44.htm
