In the US we are Conductors, Assistant Conductors, and Brakemen; of which I am one.
I work for the 2nd largest commuter railroad in the United States. Most of the time I work outside--right of way protection, yard switchers, work trains, etc. Unfortunately, I am currently stuck in passenger service and deal with the same BS, "you've got to be kidding me" nonsense as you.
