I do international development work for institutions like the World bank, USAID, UN Development Programme etc. Mostly accountability, anti-corruption, that kind of thing. Over the last few years I've had projects in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Lao, Phillipines and Ethiopia. I get some interesting opportunities, for example I took my fiance on a trip through the Khyber Pass to Afghanistan last May.
You can bet the US Border people take more than a second look when I take my bike over the border for road trips into the US from Canada and they see all the Pakistan visas in my passport.
All the time overseas doesn't give me much time for riding, let alone fettling, but my bikes give me something to day dream about when I'm stuck in airport lounges or in really boring meetings.
