Oh and repeating another earlier tip... check to make sure the plug is in "before" you launch!

ABSOLUTELY on the drain plug. But just in case have a 1-2 gallon bucket on board as part of your reguler gear, like life jackets, horn, fire extinguisher (or 2), moring lines, flashlight, radio, duct tape, bailing wire, an assortment of hose clamps, nylon tie straps, anchor w/ enough line for the area your in, flare pistol, red flag, signal mirror, some tools, etc.
And just to help out, have a check list for: leaving the house, getting ready to launch, after launch. and end of the day check-offs to make sure everything is secured for the trip home.
As side from now needing a bigger boat to haul all that stuff, for real entertainment just take a lawn chair and a cooler of your favorite beverage and sit a busy launching ramp then watch how many devorces get started, cars/trucks getting launched with their boats (PARKING BRAKE), or see the boats float out to "sea" because they forgot the bow line.....

I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.
