Speaking of waving, I took out the new toy, KLR, the other day. Now, normally, when I'm riding my TBA probably half, maybe more, or the Harley riders will wave back. When I was on the KLR, and keep in mind I'm in a motorcycle Mecca with tons of bikes on the road, zero Harley riders waved back. Probably passed 50 of them while I was out. They might not all wave back at a Triumph but they'd rather die than wave back at a dual sport.
Well this can all be readily explained, Chet. Ya see, whereas your Triumph's appearance coming straight on from the opposite direction MIGHT appear to be a Harley-Davidson, especially if you still have the metal shrouds on your forks, and ALSO considering that those exhaust headers sticking out from your Triumph's Vertical-Twin engine might resemble crash bars sticking out from it to some unsuspecting Harley rider coming that opposite direction too, BUT your Dual-Sport motorcycle could NEVER in a million years be mistaken for a Harley-Davidson to those coming in the opposite direction.
(...and soooooo...so much for the idea that most Harley riders "don't care what you're ridin' as long as you're ridin'", EH?!....CHAD!!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
