All changed when i met my wife, 9 years ago, and more so when i had a son, at age 43. He is now 6 and makes me realise life is short and should be enjoyed with family and friends. The rest is just window dressing!

I think that is probably true for a lot of us, if you are fortunate. Although (God knows how) I was a college graduate and a veteran when I met my wife, deep down I was pretty much a mess. I think she would admit to the same. Together, we were far greater than the sum of our parts. I look at my kids and I'm in awe of them. Soooo much better people than I was at their age. My oldest spent his last vacation donating bone marrow to a stranger. That never would have occurred to me at his age. I have been blessed and I don't take any of it for granted.
