I used to ski semi-professional, and I sized my motorcycle helmet as I always used to size up my ski helmets.
It should be snug, but not tight. Not too snug either, the key is when you look at a mirror and pull the helmet straight off your head, your eyebrows and forhead skin raise up. If it feels like your ripping your forehead off, probably too tight.
