I'm looking for some opinions. I'm going to be selling my Jeep soon. What's the best site to do this? E-bay, Craigs list, other? Pitfalls to look out for, as I don't know much about this kind of sales. Thanks.

Autotrader.com I've sold a few there and had much better luck than ebay or craigslist.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Cover your plate when you take pictures and don't give out your VIN. Scammers will steal the photos and info from ebay and craigs list and then post your vehicle for sale on craigs list all over the country. They can also get VIN and info on the car from your plate for a small fee. I would recommend cover the plate with a paper that has your state name written on it, or for sale and a site or number to contact. Autotrader is good, but be prepared fo all the sales people saying they will sell it for you and offering a really low price. E-bay offers some protection, but watch the ratings of the bidder. I am not fond of craigs list at all.

craigslist is good because its simple and bare bones. the bad side is that its not regulated. So with a little common sense a person can buy and sell on there with no problem.
The lack of proper judgement is why people get taken so much on there.

Whatever you do, follow the advice posted on Craigslist, deal locally and take cash only.

Wendy and I do business on Craigs List all the time and as long as you pay attention and use common sense you are fine. we have had nothing but good experiences, I bought my latest Jeep from there and my daughters car too. Several free trailers too.

Cars.com is good too. I listed my SPIII on craigslist and got all spam and one interested buyer. I'd use cars.com or autotrader.com. Or tell us more about your jeep and maybe somebody needs winter commute

Thanks for the advice, folks. I learned something. Gonna try and put the vehicle on autotrader this week if I get time.
