To pass the time during a meeting, I divided 1710 by 12. It came out that the Allison 12 cylinder V1710 used in a lot of WWII fighters displaced 142.5 cubic inches per cylinder. I then tried to imagine a vertical twin with 2 of those. Got an extra project tossed at me for smiling. An imaginary ride on a 285 cubic inch Triumph was worth it.
