I am inexperienced at polishing aluminum, etc., so take my opinion for what it is worth. But, I bought the Bomsaway (www.bikecleaner.com) product on ebay for $15.00 and tried it on my front forks. Attached is the result after <5minutes. Also used it on the lower bowl of my carbs. I have to say, for the time spent, I am extremely impressed. Also did my brake/cluch levers with great results. Eliminates the need for me buying the chrome version of these parts!!!
Hopefully you can see the result in this pic where I applyed it on the left side only. Also did my Memphis shade brackets.
