Just got back from Beefalo. Got to ride the Thunderbird Storm, blacked version. Again, not overly impressed. It's a nice bike, a ton of power and nimble as can be for a 1700cc beast. But, it just didn't pull my chain that much. It's nice, my Trophy is probably faster and way smoother ride. But they are different animals. The mirrors shook so bad they were virtually worthless. But the standard Tbird Storm had different mirrors and I didn't notice them vibrating when I peaked at the other one during the ride. Anyhow, we never really got to get loose on our own with the Triumph riders escorting us, so not enough serious horse play to see what it would really do. Hmm, how about if the truck lets me borrow it for a weekend test ride? That would be fair, no?
Also rode teh 675 Street Triple R. Now that was one darned fun bike. Not enough suspension, I weigh more then their target demographic I reckon. But the thing was really really quick and stopped just as quickly. Barely have to steer, just look where you want to be and it turns. I bet it could do a u-turn on a sidewalk, let alone a road lane, short wheelbase.
Fun day though. If you have never been to one of the demo trucks, go, it's a blast and they even feed you!
