Safe or not I like loud pipes. Brian your's sound good. I've heard way louder, BUBS on a T-100, they sound like NASCAR a quarter mile away.

If you like them keep them, it's your bike. It would be interesting to know how many folks on this forum actually have those sewing machine sounding stock mufflers installed.

Well Mac, if you're gonna take a poll here, you DO know, don't ya, that there's a thing called "a happy medium" between those excessively loud pipes AND those "sewing machine sounding stock mufflers"...RIGHT?! Yep, you DO know that, right?!

And, I'm just enough of a proud "freedom-lovin'" American to tell ya that MY exhausts probably fit right into that there "happy medium" range...a sound, I believe, sounds best on almost ANY motorcycle.

(...except maybe for those that are meant to be raced...ya see, I LIKE the sound of loud pipes at a race track...of course, most race tracks are situated miles away from any population centers, as ya know...yep, even those that NASCAR usually race on...seein' as how you brought THAT up!!!)

C S Lewis once wrote.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Do you really think the do-gooders of the world are going to stop at the "happy medium" mufflers? When was the last time a lobbying group shut down because they had accomplished their goals?

Road rage?, Anything can set off a psychopath, if I worried about that I would never leave my basement.

Cards on bicycles? I never did that, but my loser neighbor did.

My nephew has BUBS on his T-100 and they are way too loud for my taste. But hey, it's his bike, live and let live. I've got original Septres on the America and Predators on the Thruxton, they are very loud when I want them to be.
