Mine broke about six inches below the speedo. If the cable is ok, then check the speedo drive at the front axle. Another check to see if everything is ok is to check to see if the odometer is working even if the speedo isn't. If the odometer works, everything below the speedometer should be fine and the problem is in the speedo head. 12 Rocket Roadster 03 Bonneville America 69 BSA Firebird Scrambler 73 Yamaha TX 750

MarcellusWallace Adjunct Joined: May 2010 Posts: 214 VA, USA	There is probably some generic lubricant that will do the job, but I know back in the day, I bought some speedo lube from my Yamaha dealer, disconnected it from the speedo, and shot it down from the top, and sprayed it up from the bottom. 98% of the lube spray can went to waste. 2009 America
