I was told once that the Buick brand had better value outside the U.S. than Pontiac's and GM's plan was to position Buick for export. Of course that was several years ago and the economy may have shelved those plans.
I think you're right about the export thing, Steve. From what I've heard from a number of different sources, Buicks are selling very well over in China at the moment.
