wasn't any backlash against PA officials that I am aware of for repealing the helmet law. There were organized protests every year at the capitol run by ABATE. The bill passed a few times but languished on the Gov's desk until it expired. After that several time he finally signed the bill into law and now we don't have to wear a helmet in PA. One thing I don't like is a new rider does not have to wear a helmet if they take the safety course. I think a rider should be experienced before being allowed to go without.
