NH in this case = new haven, CT. we'll be riding in CT this time around, but i am sure other rides will come together this year. Maybe a ride to Newport, RI or Rockport, MA or something like that.

AMAZING riding up there up to Port Jervis. Hawk's Nest is up on Rte. 206 correct?

My dad and I stopped at this really cool campground/biker bar right near hawks nest. We just sat outside on the back patio in the shade watching everyone come in on their kayaks & the girls playing volleyball of course...

Rob I have a friend/old roommate/open invite for a place to stay in Wilmington, MA. So that's only like 10 minutes down 93 from the NH border. We'll have to set up a ride later this summer for sure.

Mark, don't worry, we'll get a good ride in out there soon!

CTMike, I have Shari's address, looked at the map, and think I can find it without any trouble. It's been awhile, but I think once I'm on the "streets of New Haven" it will all come back to me. Charlie

Jim Morrison was arrested in New Haven, at the Colliseum I think, for his onstage antics. Public indecency, inciting a riot, or something. This inspired the lyrics "Blood on the streets in the town of New Haven". I can't remember the details, but this was my intended reference.

I talked to Mert this afternoon (thanks for the call Shari!).I was at work and pressed(and stressed)for time. We quickly went over directions for the meet-up in NH. I can taste the pizza already, like Pavlov's dog. We can discuss the route for the rest of the ride over lunch. I think Shari's got it all figured out. Looking forward to meeting everyone, and their bikes, in the flesh.

Here's to the first meet-up at the dock! Charlie

actually, the arrest was at the now defunt New Haven Arena. imploded, demolished and just plain blown off the map many years ago. it was at the corner of State and Wall Sts.

Want to know what's there now?..our local branch of the FBI. I kid you not.

Guys,
think about whether you want to hit the local dealership on our way out of town. There is a Scrambler a couple of Rockets, a sprint or two, T100s, etc.
I was there earlier and a Speedmaster and a Thruxton have "Don't sit on me. I am sold" signs taped to the seat. Most cool. Maybe we'll pick up a straggler or two...

it's supposed to be on the chilly side...but sunny.
gettin pumped...i know charlie is buggin out with anticipation.

CTSPEED: Mark, give me a call. I am 99% certain we are heading up your way. Meet at the Roxbury store on 67 or at the firehouse?

Vintage: How does a meet at the Gaylordsville Firehouse on rte 7 near 55 sound to you? It's just north of New Milford and south of Kent. That would probably work for Mark too.

shari(mert)
mert(shari)
i'm the same person...i swear

I'm coming off the ferry just after 10, and then whoever meets me at the dock/train is going to New Haven to meet Shari and have Pizza. Then we're gonna head out and pick up the other two on the way to the hills.

Make sense? Just come to the dock!

OK-Gaylordsville is good. We can go see the cut down tree that G. Washington sat under. Benny, I will be at or near the ferry at 10. Have your cell phone on.

Maybe when we pick up Ben we can take a ride to the dealer as I don't think Shari will be home at 11. It only takes about 30 minutes to get to her house. Let me know so I can mapquest directions to the dealer.

That sounds good to my. My cell will be on, but once I get suited up "avec le helmet" as the french would say, it'll be hard to answer. If you call, and I answer, and you only hear muffled yelling, that's me in my helmet I'll make sure to check my messages as we float in to Bport.

Benny,
I lived in North Reading fo 13 years prior to moving to NH so I know Wilmington VERY well...I'm still in that town at least 2-3 times a week so well have to hook up for sure...

Mike,

North Conway is about 45-1hr from me North of here so it's closer than you are but not right next door...but a good ride!

Hey, all!

Due to issues, I shan't be able to do much riding.

But, if you all are planning to visit Libby's in New Haven, I would like to meet you all there. Would there be a specific time (assuming that's in the plan)?

I would be a tall fellow wearing light brown leathers on a blue Speedmaster (with saddlebags and a Windvest).

okay guys, this bites. i was really hoping to take you to Libby's I had a couple of things up my sleeve. BUT time wise it makes more sense for you to head there before meeting me, than it does for us to take the time after lunch.

it is really easy to get there from rte 34. Take a right on Ella T Grasso Blvd and shortly after the intersection with blvd and rte one you'll see a vertical banner sign for Libby's on the right(printers lane). look for a TMobile/Cingular?Olympia diner little old fashion shopping center on right just before you turn down printers lane for Libby's. The shop is all the way at the end of the road on the left. tell them you're my buds.

ARRRRGH. Now I want to book off the job. Someone stop me! or not(Mike, waiting for you to chime in here).

easy enough to get here from Libby's. Matt, Mapquest a non highway route or i'll call you or charlie later to give directions.

Guys, I'll see you at the dock, or station.

Mert, if you're gonna ride the scoot to work, why not just meet us at Libby's?
Then you could lead us to your place(not that I think I'd have any trouble finding it).

BTW, I probably won't be able to sleep tonight,
like the kids on that TV commercial for Disney "we're too excited to sleep!".

i could meet you at the shop. it won't be until 12. do you think you want to hang at Libby's for over an hour? or do you want to wend your way to new haven a little more slowly? we can ride back to my digs; you can all park and i can come in get out of work duds into riding duds yadda yadda yadda.

i still think it would be a riot to see all of you lined up on the platform in bridgeport when my train stops there on the way to new haven from new york; but i'll be leaving NY at around the time benny gets to the dock.

talk amongst yourselves in the morning and leave me a message on my cell; let me know what you want to do--i am riding to work.

Matt, I think 10:45 is a little optomistic.
My estimate would be between 11 and 11:30,
depending on when the ferry docks/unloads.
Not trying to split hairs.

shmert, you are looking a bit pale this evening and I think I detected a bit of a tickle in your voice.I'm not a doctor but it seems like a 24 hour bug is moving in on you.I think it would be selfish of you to subject your coworkers passengers etc. to such a menacing illness.I think the only civil thing to do is to call in sick. BTW I know where libbys is.If shmert chooses to disregard my medical advise I think we should meet her there.Am a little curious what she has up her sleeve.

Well there's a chance I'll be caging it down to GA... I'll explain on Sat, but too many health issues lately to risk a miserable ride if the weather sux, etc. We'll see! That weekend is about the people anyway, like this weekend. I'm psyched to do some good riding, but if it wasn't for the hang with the guys, it wouldn't be worth it!

blue flu, ghostly pale, coughing and spitting will not keep me from hassling harrasing and generally making fun of The Great Unwashed and Their Filthy Money(aka the riding public).

Believe me, if I had a 9 or10 hour assignment today i would suffer from some vile disorder that would absolutely prevent me from hassling harrasing and generally making fun of The Great Unwashed and Their Filthy Money(aka the riding public).

I'll talk to you guys in a few hours. figure around 10:20-10:30 once i get out of the park ave tunnel and into a cell friendly zone.

i'll plan on seeing you at libby's though...
