Well Keith... after reading your post I looked over at Bike Bandit and it looks like it'll only cost me ~$10 to swap the bolt and lock nut out. I'm all about preventative maintenance and swapping out parts long before their dead to prevent them from dying unexpectedly. (That's where the wife gets angry. "Your's is fine! Why do you need to go buy another one! Mumble...mumble...mumble..." she says.

It sounds like from Bill though that there is a bit of "pivot" on that bolt. If the bolt is a failure point that is supposed to be swapped out every so often, I'm definitely going to heed your advice but I just want to make sure that if I swap it and it keeps a bit of "pivot" or "wobble" that I'm still in good shape.
Remember, I got this off a guy that got it off a guy kind of a thing. I baby my things and I can only assume the guys before me cherished my beloved bike but there's no tellin'. So I'm going through practically every little thing to make sure she keeps on going for the next 10+ years.
