I bought and used a motorcycle lift from Harbor Freight today, it is the same unit that Craftsman puts their name onto. On sale for $99.99 & worth every penny. I was able to finally do a proper chain clean and lube, clean the back wheel & hubs. website: http://www.harborfreight.com/1500-lb-capacity-atv-motorcycle-lift-2792.html

Yeah, I bought the Craftsman one a few years ago and it is well worth the hundred bucks. I decided I was too old to be pushing the bike around to get the chain all lubed. And as you said, it works great for cleaning your wheels. If you end up swapping out your chain and sprockets, or your suspension, you will find it handy too!

Wow, did that go up in price. I paid $50 for that same lift from them a couple years ago. So far it's been a good lift for me. I also bought the full length table lift from them on sale for $249 (I think $249) and that also has been a good lift so far.

A lift is your friend. Btw... do you find that crossover strap necessary (or just a bit of insurance!)?

I never use a strap on mine but then the bike could fall or be knocked off so can't hurt if you are inclined to do so.

I always use the strap on mine, for an added measure of safety and for insurance against my natural clumsiness.

I like to bungy strap the kickstand tight in the open position. I can just see the stand folding up as I let the bike down on the lift if I didn't.

Wow, I've really got to clean the 7 or 8 years of grime off my Craftsman.

All, Just before Christmas I was in the Harbor Freight store in my neck O the woods & grabbed one of their "sale" flyers. Anyhoo, in that flyer there is a super coupon for for this same bike lift that will save ya's some dough, $60.00 off the regular price. purchase price is $59.99 according to the coupon & good thru 1/30/12. I going there tomorrow to get mine!
